Your Orthodontic Patient Journey

• Once your appointment is scheduled, you’ll receive a welcome email with appointment details, clinic information and a medical history questionnaire.

• We ask that the medical history questionnaire is completed prior to your visit so we can prepare for your appointment.

• At your initial consultation, Dr Amanda Lawrence will review any concerns with your smile. She will carry out a thorough orthodontic assessment, and discuss:

1. Whether orthodontic treatment is recommended

2. Expected treatment duration

3. Available treatment options

4. Next steps to discuss the most suitable timing for treatment and costs

You’ll have time to ask questions and consider your options before deciding how you’d like to proceed.

• Most patients attend appointments every 6–10 weeks. These visits allow us to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments to braces, aligners or appliance

• We’ll provide clear guidance on how to care for your teeth and appliances during treatment. Maintaining good oral hygiene plays an important role in achieving healthy, efficient results.

• Some tenderness is normal following adjustments. Our team will provide practical advice to help manage any discomfort.
  If an appliance breaks or something doesn’t feel right, we’re only a phone call away.

• Once your teeth have moved into their ideal positions, we’ll carefully remove your braces or complete aligner treatment and review your final result.

• You’ll receive custom-made retainers designed to keep your teeth in position. We’ll explain how and when to wear them, along with clear care instructions.

• A follow-up appointment is typically scheduled around six months after treatment to review your smile and answer any questions.
  If your treatment was referred by a dentist, we’ll provide them with a treatment summary and ongoing care information.
